I sold Gift Vouchers on ebay for 拢250 - the buyer said the envelope arrived ripped with no vouchers inside?

The vouchers were 拢400 worth which can be used in Currys or Dixons. The envelope was delivered by recorded delivery, with the rip taped up. The buyer has requested a refund, but i purchased the vouchers for a lower price off a mate - so I would be loosing out. I don't have proof the buyer didn't rip it themselve. Where do I stand? What happens if she opens a dispute with PayPal, I have proof of delivery so that may help my case.I sold Gift Vouchers on ebay for 拢250 - the buyer said the envelope arrived ripped with no vouchers inside?
she is lying!!!

If you sent them recorded delivery, you would have been contacted if their was ANY damage to the parcel or envelope

also if they were damaged she shouldn't have signed for them!!!

Id put good money on it that shes taken you for a ride!!

Contact eBay and explain the situation, i don't think your responsible for this at all!

I know this is a bit far fetched but is there anyway you could contact Dixon's and Curry's and ask them if these vouchers have been used?

Did you keep the serial numbers or anything that could identify them?I sold Gift Vouchers on ebay for 拢250 - the buyer said the envelope arrived ripped with no vouchers inside?
You have honoured your side of the transaction you have proof of that, you cannot be responsible for that letter once it leaves your possession, you will need to contact Royal Mail and explain the situation, have your recorded delivery receipt to hand as I would have thought they will be able to trace right back to even the postman who delivered it, they should be able to shed some light on this and the best coarse of action to take. Good luck.
Yup.. Dont give the refund, contact ebay and paypal asap, if you have recorded delivery then she is up the swanney mate !! But thank u for pointing that out about serial numbers as I sell on ebay and never thought about that !! Cheers all and hope you get it resolved !!!
It sounds a bit suspicious. I certainly wouldn't give her the money back. Tend to agree with Cutie that the post office would have put the envelope into another see-through bag and stuck a label on it saying that the envelope had been damaged in the post.

I once received an envelope where the buyer had sent cash in single pounds - a tiny slit had been cut on the envelope and the money removed. I would also add that I have had money (拢10 notes) stolen from birthday cards sent to my kids, in the post.

I received a damaged envelope last week and the p/o put it in an envelope with a sticker explaining what had happened it.

Edit: Thumbs down????
I agree with Cutie. Let them try and take the dispute to paypal, she hasnt really got a leg to stand on as you have proof.

I bet shes done this before!
She is trying to scam you its as simple as that.
I feel your case is solid mate on your side? hows the buyers feedback?? All the best to you, from this snippet of information you sound innocent??
It's pretty much her word against yours. I had a very similar case when I sold some software on ebay. Depressingly even though I had a signature saying it was delivered, and it wasn't signed for as 'damaged' paypal still protected the buyer, resulting in me losing out 拢500. And the post office where no hope, as it was signed for, they didn't care either.
if it has been sent and rip and they have got it tell them to take it up with the post office cause it has been sent as recorded delivery so its down to the post office. or the sorting office.

I hope this will help you let me know email me
If you have proof of delivery, I think it's not your problem. Tell them to shove off. If in doubt though why don't YOU contact ebay first and ask their advice.
If the envelope was delivered by recorded delivery, the buyer should have refused the package. By signing and accepting the package, I would think that you are in a good position to dispute the challenge.

do you have a horse for sale too

as your buyer wants to take you for a ride

check with post office if it was delivered damaged
she's takin' the p**s
If you have the serial numbers, the stores can find out where they were used and on what date. I think the buyer is having you over here, however we mustn't forget millions of letters and parcels ';go missing'; with Royal Mail. You should have sent them by registered post - or is it special delivery not sure - i know recorded delivery doesn't cover the cost of an item to the value of 拢400. Hope you get this sorted, because it's either fraud or theft.
send her an identical recorded delivery with a note in it saying ';i am not a fool';

see if she gets that ok

paypal disputes are quite a relaxed affair - just keep channels of communication open and avoid any unpleasantness

Contact The Post Office and tell them what the buyer is saying to see what they have to say.
don't give her the money back, try to see if you can block her!!!
shes a lying money grabbing ***** whatever u do dont give her a refund.
