Why are people advising not to buy gift vouchers?

because of the credit crunch no one knows what store is going to go bankrupt next and if it happens to a store that u have a gift card for then you have lost the money hope iv helped merry xmasWhy are people advising not to buy gift vouchers?
Because there is no certainty whether the store will still eb standing by the time the person gets to use the voucher. There no refunable so if the store shuts down, you lose your money and there gift is useless. There are also cases where gift vouchers maybe fruadelent, fakes and you could end up with a record for fraud for trying to use one. They also have strict conditions, some you can only use towards certain items and brands within a store, you can't get change that is rightfully yours ...... Your better off giving someone cash or a cheque!Why are people advising not to buy gift vouchers?
Who is? Maybe because you can only spend them in one place or a certain few shops. I think it is a cop out of buying a present.

or Debenhams etc., that seems a 'safe' bet.
