i would rather a voucher than a gift i have no use for or dislike. what are your thoughts?Do you think it is too impersonal to give gift vouchers instead of presents for christmas or b'days?
I don't think gift vouchers are impersonal. I actually find them extremely practical, especially the ones that are offered by credit card compainies now(i.e. American Express, Visa) so a person isn't limited to one specific store. It saves you time and it gives them the opportunity to buy themselves what they actually want or need! I don't think anyone minds getting money on any occasion =)
Though on certain occasions such as anniversaries with a significant other it may be more preferable to get an actual gift (or a gift certificate to a massage place, etc.)Do you think it is too impersonal to give gift vouchers instead of presents for christmas or b'days?
i agree
I think it really depends on the person!
I know that my in-laws LOVE gift certificates.. and getting them anything else wouldnt be a good idea! That way the person can pick up something they really need when they need it and its not sitting in the house collecting dust giving you a guilt trip every time you try to throw it away.
Depending on who its going to or comming from... I like to get close family, Ie Husband, Parents, Brother.. something personal.. but only because I KNOW they will love it.. I like getting gifts people can use, or can use only once, like a concert ticket, because the memory will last alot longer than any gadget ever could!
Yes of cos... I rather get some gift vouchers then stuck with a pressie I won't fancy.
I agree, cuz a lot of times people take back what you get them anyway!
I think it's good along with at least one hand picked gift.
: )
The best gift ever is money, that way they can get something they will 100% love, and you don't have to do any guess work.
Whenever a birthday or xmas rolls around, me and my partner each take the other shopping and we pick out own gifts. It's fun and you never get anything you don't want, and if you do, it's your own fault! :P
not at all
I prefer giving gift voucher
much better then keeping unwanted presents %26amp; recycling them later
You should not feel bad about giving someone vouchers at christmas instead of present - one of the reasons that you are giving vouchers in the first place is because they may not appreaciate or want the present that you have chosen , Do you go ahead and give them the voucher - This way they can spend the amount on what they do want.
Hope this Helps

Tell family and friends not to give you anything. Then you wont need to feel disappointed any more
