Do you prefer a gift or a gift voucher?

I always prefer to give gift vouchers than gifts because as I see it people can get what they'd like. I might choose a gift that they don't really like and I also like receiving gift vouchers. What about you?Do you prefer a gift or a gift voucher?
vouchers all the way, I never like what people buy for me!! Those gifts almost always end up in my attic!

From my family and general friends, vouchers are nice and money even nicer. They give me the gift of choice - corny but true.





From my very very closest friends I prefer presents. We always get each other real presents that remind us of times together or perhaps create more times together, like concert tickets.
I prefer gifts because it shows the person has taken more thought to what you would like, and its more personal.





I think gift vouchers are better in certain situations, like if you're not close to a person socially, like a colleague. Then I think its better to let them choose for themself rather than get something that they wont use anyway.
Either is fine for me. If a voucher, I can add a bit to it if I don't find what I want for the amount given. And yes, no need to have things I do not want or need. At the same time, usually the gifts given me are spot on. Seldom something I can't or won't use.

Once upon a time gift giving was simple.People always appreciated the '; gift ';...because this is what it was.


Today gift giving is extravagant...so l guess people do prefer a voucher.


l believe it still takes the personal touch out of receiving that lovely..'; present ';
I prefer gift vouchers but only if they are for a suitable amount, as i have on more than one occasion recieved a gift voucher for a certain amount, when the shop the voucher is for sells absolutely nothing at that price :-(
I'd rather have the money so I can actually buy something I want. People who get gift vouchers can't be bothered to look for a gift or assume that because you once bought a top from somewhere, you actually don't go antwhere else.
If its from someone who knows me well then a gift, if its from someone who doesn't know my likes dislikes, hobbies etc then a gift voucher.


A gift voucher is a sensible option for honestly not having a clue as to what to get someone.

well i would like a gift not a gift voucher just give them money so they can choose which shop they spend there money in.
