The industry has taken an advantage of a gullible consumer in order to promote and profit from their products. I don't really think it deserves a lengthy explanation.
Besides, my YA is on a verge of death. I had to click about 5 times on your question before it came up. MJ story seems to have taken over the news channels as well as YA. I bet about 1 billion users are posting 'OMG MJ is dead??' question right now.....how long before YA servers overload and crash??
