Gift vouchers or cash ?

Do you think that gift vouchers are more 'thoughtfull' then cash?

According to me they are, because it shows you actually went out and bought something.

But money lets you buy anything, anywhere.Gift vouchers or cash ?
I think the problem with cash is that it gets put in a purse/wallet and then gets spent on some everyday thing whereas a gift voucher is usually spent on something special.Gift vouchers or cash ?
i don`t see the `Problem` (perceived or other-wise) with giving Gift Vouchers....or receiving them....it takes away the pressure AND embarrassment of duplicating Gifts and allows the recipient to get EXACTLY what THEY want , instead of being ';obligated'; to endure the `tastes` of those who think that they are doing ';the right thing';.

cash is the same thing.....it lets the receiver purchase goods for their needs.......nothing wrong with either Gift.

when was the last time you had a Gift you put into the back of the Cup-board/Closet?????
As long as gift card is for a store you are certain the person likes, it's good. However, I don't think when you give someone cash they think ';wow, this person didn't put any thought into my present';. A fun way to give cash is to give the person as many single dollar bills as they are old (if for a birthday).
