Gift vouchers?

i know it's a bit early to be worrying about chtristmas, but lasy year was such a struggle, so thought i could buy a couple each month, then it's out of the way everyone's happy, my daughter is so so fussy she likes to choose her own thing, but what is the life expectency on them? dont what them to be out of date! most embarrasing!Gift vouchers?

In the event you can't find the vouchers you want, alternatively you could put the money back you would spend. Then when it is closer to Christmas, you could begin the purchasing. It will also give you time to decide on the exact place(s) to buy vouchers for.

If the cards don't state an expiration date, they never expire. I think there was someone who actually took a store to court over this. The store claimed that the card was invalid over 90 days (or something), and the woman argued that the card stated no expiration date...she won. Any store who does not honor ';old'; gift cards isn't worth the time and effort of my business. Think of it this way...gift cards were purchased with cash for the exact cash amount equivalent, thus should be treated as cash. Cash does not (and should not) ever expire!
It depends on what state you live in. In California it's illegal for them to expire so they charge you a convience fee, it usually starts the 13 month after purchase. Check them before you buy them. Visa gifts cards work the best because they can be spent anywhere. Wal-mart has them.
Check with the store before purchasing them. Some stores never go out of date, others charge a monthly service fee. If the store files bankruptcy the cards are worthless. One year I did this for my son at Menards. Their cards were great; They didn't expire and it really helped my budget.
If you get people visa gift cards they last forever, and you can put any ammount of money on them. They work like a debit card, but once they're done, they're done and can be thrown away!! Simple, but cool
I'll do mine nearer the time, just in case any other family members of mine feel like dying before the year is out.
it should say on the back of the gift voucher, i know that gift cards dont have expiry dates on them so i would go for them!
